Mike McLaury - about “Timely Moves” 1/21:

Cliff, you have the ability to seamlessly blend the essential elements of rhythm, melody and harmony in such a way that I truly get lost in the tapestry of living sound and peak performance. A true tone poet you are, and you really know how to bring out the best in these guys.

Dori Palmer – about “Fools Gold” 2/21:

Love it, your soul is truly at peace and full of joy. When listening it evokes harmony, peace, joy, an uplifting of all senses. It resonates like a Tibetan singing bowl. Everyone needs your healing music. Thanks for sharing your gift as a master musician and composer.

Phil Magrini – about “Timely Moves” 1/20:

The production, playing and composition are first rate. That you continue to use top flight players to present your music is a testimony to your dedication and refusal to dumb down your sound.

Jay Soule – about “Fools Gold” 9/20:

I like the clear, sweet, human voice sound of your bass, and the way you make your playing look effortless. Also, I like that the composition has contrasting sections, as opposed to just playing the tune followed by a bunch of solos. You give it a form so that it repays repeated listening.

Adam Danko – about “Fools Gold” 3/19:

Thank you very much Cliff Erickson, I am floored, and would love to hear more. Excellent.

Nancy Alexander Storm - about “Turns in the Road” 4/18:

Very cool Cliff. Your music is . . . intelligent, masculine, independent, strong and edgy.

Delphine Perret - about "Mystic Cook" 11/21:

A multi-dimensional space. Multi-faceted. It has a "thickness", with volume. You travel through it, as if in a vessel/craft. Mystic creates this dimension with all it's different voices.

Jeff Battis - about "Timely Moves" 1/22:

"Cliff, what you're doing is brilliant, and reaches into those elements of sound and composition which touches me deeply, and are very much a part of who I am musically."

"Static Sculpture" Reviews

Mike Tyler - Lead electric guitar of B.T.G. (the "Bartron Tyler Group") 3/10:

Great playing and tones from everybody. It keeps a nice sparse, live feel to the music instead of over producing the sound and I like that. It's often easy to keep overdubbing more parts and you end up losing a sense of the individual players. Well done.

Pat Klobas - President of Northern California Bass Assoc., Lecturer of Jazz and Classical double Bass 6/10:

"Static Sculpture" has a maturity that makes it timeless. Erickson's very original compositions are full of life and spirit. His playing excites but is always tasteful and never "over the top".

Steve Mitchell - Legendary Drummer with Joe Henderson, Van Morrison etc. 1/10:

Static Sculpture is a fine example of Cliff's work ethic which I have witnessed working with him several years ago. He is a true sculptor who has the patience to polish and rearrange sounds until they become emotionally intense and intellectually stimulating. An amazing piece of work.
